We are a full-service animal hospital providing comprehensive pet healthcare services in Midland, TX. Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house testing for accurate diagnosis, digital x-ray, surgical suites, dental suites, and a pharmacy. From routine preventive care to early detection and treatment of a wide range of conditions and diseases, we have the expertise to provide the highest standard of care for your pet. We also serve Greenwood, Odessa, Fairmont Park, Grandridge, and Arbor Park.

  • Dr. Alan Alderson


    Dr. Alderson grew up near Lubbock, Texas where he found his love of animals at an early age. He completed his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University in 1980. After graduation, he worked in Muleshoe, TX as a veterinary assistant and then later was a veterinary technician in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M. While working at the college, he was accepted into the professional curriculum and graduated with his DVM in 1986. He practiced 9 years in Sweetwater, TX in a mixed animal practice before moving to Midland. His favorite part of being a veterinarian is interacting with clients and teaming with them to reach their desired health goals for each pet. He believes that client education and being able to effectively communicate a plan are the cornerstones of serving each client well.

  • Dr. Idaliz Pedraza


    Dr. Idaliz Pedraza was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She is bilingual speaking both English and Spanish. Obtained her Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Evolution studies in PR. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts and transferred to Ohio State University to complete her clinical year. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog Ghost, reading, exploring, playing chess, and relaxing at home.

    Valerie joined our team in summer 2020 as a receptionist. She is from Rockwall, Texas but has been in West Texas for several years now. She loves working with animals and enjoys spending her free time with her 3 yr old baby Boxer Finn. She’s a hard worker and alongside working here at the clinic she is going to school to be a dental hygienist.

    Veterinary Asssitant

    Auzhieah joined our team at Medical Veterinary Service in 2019. She has become quite an asset. Auzhieah started off as a kennel assistant and has quickly moved thru the positions to receptionist and to a technician position. Auzhieah is currently enrolled in a Vet Tech program and well on her way to becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Auzhieah is absorbing every bit of knowledge and task thrown her way!

    Veterinary Asssitant

    Krissy recently moved to the Permian Basin from Austin. She has a cat and dog that are close to her heart! She has always wanted to work in veterinary medicine, and the move was her perfect opportunity to join our team! If she’s not at the clinic you’ll find her out running or fly fishing in her past time. She is eager to learn and we are so glad to have her on our team!

    Liz joined our team at Medical Veterinary Service in 2020. She is from a small town, Lampasas, and moved out West in 2012. She has worked in different medical fields from Hospitality to Correctional Healthcare, to oilfield and clerical. She is happy to have the opportunity to pursue animal patient care with her little buddy Rusty.

    Veterinary Asssitant

    Hannah is the newest member of the MVS team, she was born in Austin, Texas – although she grew up in Big Spring, Texas. She currently lives in Andrews with her boyfriend and is currently in the process of becoming “parents” to her first four-legged Lab named Mako!! She enjoys spending time with my family and going to motocross races on weekends. She has been in veterinary medicine for 2 years now. Her favorite thing about working in veterinary medicine is helping clients understand the importance of taking care of their furr-babies and creating a bond with each and every patient.
